A Komodo island tour from Bali begins with a short flight to Labuan Bajo, about 1 hour 10 minutes, because every Kanha boat departs from there; then come 3 days and 2 nights aboard Kanha Citta, Loka or Natha. Shared trips sail every Friday from IDR 4,500,000 (≈ USD 276) per person; a whole boat is priced to 10 guests and has room for up to 20.
Choose your Kanha: three sisters, three moods
Three phinisi carry the Kanha name, and each has a temperament of her own. We sell cabins and whole-boat charters on all three, so we begin with the mood of your party and leave the numbers for later.
- Kanha Citta, the gathering boat. 8 cabins, up to 22 guests, a restaurant and bar area and a sun deck. Gayatri, her master room, is the one cabin aboard with a private balcony. Citta belongs to a lively private party of up to 20, or to a shared trip where strangers are old friends by Saturday.
- Kanha Loka, the family boat. 7 cabins, up to 22 guests, the same restaurant and bar area, a sun deck. Her Family Ocean View sleeps 4, with a balcony and a bathroom of its own. Loka suits three generations at once, or a reunion where nobody wants to sleep on a bench. A balcony on the Deluxe Ocean View is confirmed in writing before you pay.
- Kanha Natha, the quiet boat. 4 cabins and up to 12 guests, a dining area and a sun deck, and no bar area. Two Private Ocean View cabins sit alongside two Sharing Cabins of 4 single bunks. Natha is made for 6 to 12 friends who want her to themselves. For 13, she is one berth short.
The Kanha edit: a reunion of 20 goes to Kanha Loka. Six friends after a boat of their own go to Kanha Natha.

Every Friday, 3 days and 2 nights, priced by cabin
Friday morning is when it starts. All three boats leave Labuan Bajo on the same day, so picking a boat comes down to cabins and company, never the calendar. Expect pickup from your hotel or the airport around 09:00 on day 1, and the boat back in town around 12:00 on day 3.
Fares are per person for the full 3D2N. The trade calls this an open trip, which simply means you join other guests on a fixed date. A bed in a Sharing Cabin is the cheapest way aboard; private cabins are sold to 2 guests at least.
| Boat | Sharing Cabin bed | Cheapest private cabin | Top cabin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kanha Citta | IDR 4,800,000 (≈ USD 294) | IDR 7,800,000 (≈ USD 479) | IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552) |
| Kanha Loka | IDR 4,500,000 (≈ USD 276) | IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) | IDR 8,400,000 (≈ USD 515) |
| Kanha Natha | IDR 4,500,000 (≈ USD 276) | IDR 7,200,000 (≈ USD 442) | IDR 7,200,000 (≈ USD 442) |
The guide and photo and video documentation are part of the shared fare. Park tickets are not.
Every cabin on the three boats, with its fare and how many it sleeps, is set out on the Cabins and prices page, under Shared trip in the menu.
Shared trips leave every Friday.
A whole boat for your party, priced to 10 guests and open to 20
A party of 12 on Kanha Loka pays IDR 104,160,000 (≈ USD 6,390) for the boat over 3D2N, or IDR 8,680,000 (≈ USD 533) each. On Kanha Natha the same 12 pay IDR 60,720,000 (≈ USD 3,725), which is IDR 5,060,000 (≈ USD 310) a head, since her top band covers 9 to 12 guests at a single price.
Citta and Loka are priced in bands up to 10 guests, then a fixed add-on for each extra guest, which is how we book them for parties of 13 to 20, a size we suggest on Citta or Loka rather than Natha. A private charter pays for the boat, the crew, meals and snorkelling gear. It leaves out the local guide and the photo and video documentation, which we quote separately if you want them.
Inside a band, every empty bed pushes up everyone else's share. That is why the arithmetic matters more than the headline figure, and why the tables below divide each whole-boat total by the real head count.
| Group size | Kanha Citta | Kanha Loka | Kanha Natha |

The 3D2N route, day by day
All three boats follow the same 3D2N route of nine stops, and eight of them have a page of their own below. A private charter can also ask about Kanawa, which is not on the route. Day 1 takes in Manjarite, Kelor and Kalong, where the sunset brings out the flying foxes. Day 2 is the full one: the trek to the top of Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island for the dragons, and Manta Point to finish. Sebayur and Taka Makassar close day 3.
On the day, the captain sets the order, because weather and tide decide what is safe. Manta Point is a snorkelling stop rather than a guarantee of rays, and on Komodo you walk the rangers' route at the rangers' pace. Snorkelling gear and life jackets come with every Kanha boat. Bring a hat, sunblock and trekking sandals: Padar and Komodo are both day-2 walks in full daylight. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day.
- Padar Island from Bali: the ridge walk on day 2
- Pink Beach, Komodo: the stop, the colour, the swim
- Visit Komodo Island: the walk, the rangers, the rules
- Komodo manta season: what to expect at Manta Point
- Taka Makassar Komodo sandbank: the sandbar stop
- Kalong Island Komodo bats sunset: flying foxes on day 1
- Kelor Island Labuan Bajo: the short hike on day 1
- Sebayur Island Komodo: reef and beach on day 3
Reunions, three generations, celebrations: where each boat fits
We feature three occasions because they are what the Kanha boats handle best. A reunion of 12 friends on Kanha Loka pays IDR 8,680,000 (≈ USD 533) each for the whole boat, with a bar area and a sun deck to gather on.
Three generations travelling together fit Loka's Family Ocean View, at IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) per person for its 4 guests on the shared trip, balcony and bathroom included in the cabin. Under-threes, aged 0 to 2, sail free, and from 3 a child pays the full fare.
A birthday, graduation or anniversary for 14 guests on Kanha Citta comes to IDR 121,200,000 (≈ USD 7,436) for the boat. Decorations and a dinner ashore are quoted as their own lines, and none of it is added until you agree in writing.
From Bali, the honest way: flight, hotel night, flight home
No Kanha boat sails from Bali or Lombok. They leave from Labuan Bajo only, so a trip that begins in Bali begins with a flight. Direct flights run about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, and airlines on the route shuffle their timetables, so check the current schedule before you book.
Thursday to Sunday is the shape that works. Fly in on Thursday and spend the night in Labuan Bajo; a Friday-morning landing leaves no slack for a 09:00 pickup. The boat is back around 12:00 on day 3, which falls on Sunday, so pick a flight home after 14:00.
Coming from Lombok or the Gilis, you still fly into Labuan Bajo first. Our guides below deal with the airport, the hotel night and the packing.
Komodo from Bali: how many days to planFour days from Bali: fly to Labuan Bajo on Thursday, sail the Friday shared trip, fly home on Sunday after 14:00. The boats start in Labuan Bajo. Plan it.
Reaching a Komodo boat from Lombok and the GilisLombok to Labuan Bajo is about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes by air. The Kanha shared trip sails every Friday from Labuan Bajo, never Lombok. Plan Thursday.

Three kinds of month: calm, windy and wet
- Best months. April to June, with calm water and clear visibility, and again from September to November, once the wind drops back and the boats thin out.
- Windy months. July and August, rougher and busier, with the biggest crowds.
- Wet months. January and February, rough with poor visibility, and the quietest at sea. Mantas show best in the wet months and again from July to September.
The sea is the same for every sister, so the month helps you choose a date, never one boat over another. If we know a date will be rough, you hear it from us before you pay. The best-time page has every month.
Hotel nights, dinners and celebrations
Most guests forget the hotel night before the boat. We book rooms at partner hotels in Labuan Bajo, so your arrival, hotel and pickup all sit in one conversation.
Island dinners, decorations, meetings on board and a photographer are quoted within hours; the price turns on head count, island and season. No extra reaches your fare without a written quote.
Free pickup
Pickup from your hotel, the airport or the harbour in Labuan Bajo is free in both directions, and the time and the point are agreed in writing before you pay.
For a larger party, a Toyota HiAce seats up to 12 and a bigger coach comes on request; either is quoted as its own line.
Who sells these trips, and when another boat is the better pick
PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia is the booking partner for the three Kanha boats, which belong to their owner. We sell the trips, answer your questions and stand behind your booking; the Kanha crew sails the boat. This is not the official Kanha website, and you will not find the owner's logo or contact details here. Questions about cabins, dates or pickup come to our team on WhatsApp, in English or Indonesian, during team hours.
We book Kanha Citta and Kanha Loka for up to 22 guests and Kanha Natha for up to 12, so a party of 13 or more should look at Citta or Loka. Prices are as listed on the 2026 rate cards; 2027 on request. Park tickets and ranger fees never sit inside a fare, and nor do flights or hotel nights unless we quote them as separate lines.

Guest reviews of trips booked with us, not of Citta, Loka or Natha specifically
“We watched the most gorgeous sunset while thousands of flying foxes (kalong) started flying above us against the orange sky. The crew knew exactly where to position the boat for the best view.”
“Pengalaman yang luar biasa!”
“Pink Beach was our favourite spot — the pink sand against that crazy blue water. On the anjungan (front deck) we got gorgeous photos with the sail and open sea behind us.”
