A Komodo birthday trip on a boat: birthdays, anniversaries and graduations
Updated 23 October 2026
A Komodo birthday trip on a boat for 14 guests costs IDR 112,320,000 (≈ USD 6,891) for a 3-day, 2-night charter of Kanha Loka, or IDR 8,020,000 (≈ USD 492) per guest. Ten guests can have Kanha Natha for IDR 60,720,000 (≈ USD 3,725). Decoration, a special dinner and a photographer are quoted separately.
Choose your Kanha for a celebration
Every milestone, whether a birthday, an anniversary or a graduation, comes with a host, a guest list and a mood. It is the mood that picks the boat.
Kanha Citta is for the big, open-handed version: 16 to 20 guests, a restaurant and bar area, and the Gayatri room for whoever is being celebrated, the only cabin aboard with a private balcony. Its fares are the highest of the three, and the per-guest add-on applies from the 11th guest.
Loka hosts the same party for less. It has 7 cabins, the same bar area and a Master Ocean View with its own balcony, and a birthday for 12 to 14 sits comfortably on board.
Natha is the intimate choice. It sleeps 12 at most, has no bar area and hands a dinner party of 8 to 10 the whole boat. Once the guest list reaches 13, look at the other two.
An anniversary for two has its own page, the romantic trip for two, where all of Natha is priced for a couple. This page is about celebrating with a crowd.
What a celebration trip looks like, day by day
All three boats sail the 3D2N route. A celebration changes how you spend each stop, not the stops themselves.
Day 1. Manjarite brings the first swim and the first group photo. Kelor is a short, steep climb for anyone who fancies it. Kalong at sunset is the toast: the boat lies off the mangroves, the flying foxes leave about 15 minutes after the sun drops, and a toast on the sun deck needs no planning at all. Drinks and snacks are outside the fare, so anything from the bar area on Citta or Loka is paid for on top.
Day 2. Padar first thing, then Pink Beach, the Komodo walk with a ranger and Manta Point. It is the fullest day, and the best one for a birthday that lands on a Saturday. Once it is over the evening belongs to you, and that is when to plan a special dinner if you want one. We quote it within hours, and nothing is added without that written quote.
Day 3. Sebayur and Taka Makassar are slow, warm stops with nothing to prove. One last swim, one last stroll on the sandbar, and then the boat heads back to Labuan Bajo.
All three boats have karaoke and a Bluetooth sound system. If the weather moves a stop, the captain decides on the day.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.
What we arrange, and what we do not promise
On request we arrange three things for a celebration: decorations for a cabin or the deck, a special dinner and a photographer. Each is quoted within hours, and none is added to your fare without a written quote. Prices depend on the number of guests, the island and the season, so none is listed here.
Some things we cannot promise. A cake is not part of the fare, there is no live band on offer, and whether a surprise works depends on the crew and the day. If you want one of these, we ask the Kanha crew and tell you in writing what they can confirm. Anything not confirmed in writing is not part of the trip.
Karaoke and a Bluetooth sound system come as standard on all three boats, so the evening's music is already on board.
No age limit is set either. Children aged 0 to 2 travel free, and the full fare starts at 3. An 80th and a fifth birthday can share a boat, and the cabin plan we write shows who sleeps where.
Free pickup
Pickup from your hotel, the airport or the harbour in Labuan Bajo is free in both directions, and the time and the point are agreed in writing before you pay.
For a larger party, a Toyota HiAce seats up to 12 and a bigger coach comes on request; either is quoted as its own line.
Party size and cabins
A private charter is priced in bands of 1 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 10 guests, then on Citta and Loka a per-guest add-on takes you up to 20. Natha's bands go to 12. The sisters' table below matches a typical celebration to each boat.
| Party | Boat | Whole boat, 3D2N |
|---|---|---|
| 10 guests | Kanha Natha | IDR 60,720,000 (≈ USD 3,725) |
| 14 guests | Kanha Loka | IDR 112,320,000 (≈ USD 6,891) |
| 20 guests | Kanha Citta | IDR 145,680,000 (≈ USD 8,937) |
That works out at IDR 6,070,000 (≈ USD 372) each for 10 on Natha and IDR 8,020,000 (≈ USD 492) each for 14 on Loka. The price covers the boat, crew, meals and snorkelling gear. A private charter leaves out the guide and documentation, and park tickets and ranger fees never form part of a fare.
Put the guest of honour in the best cabin: Gayatri on Citta, the Master Ocean View on Loka, or the Private Ocean View with the balcony on Natha. Everyone else follows the bed plan we write.
Friday starts and birthday weekends
Because the shared trip leaves every Friday, day 2 is always a Saturday and day 3 a Sunday. A Saturday birthday therefore lands on the biggest day of the route.
Private charters are not tied to Friday. You agree the start date with us in writing, so a Wednesday birthday can fall on day 1 or day 2. Give us the date that matters and we shape the three days around it.
The boats depart from Labuan Bajo only, so guests coming from Bali should arrive the day before, on Thursday; the flight is about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, and schedules shift, so check with the airline before booking. Shared-trip guests are met around 09:00 on day 1, at the hotel or airport, and are back in town by about 12:00 on day 3. For a private charter, both times are set in writing.
Book Sunday flights home after 14:00. A guest racing for a plane misses the final toast.
Photos and keepsakes
Documentation comes with the shared trip but not with a private charter, where photo and video coverage is available on request and quoted separately. If the celebration is the reason for the trip, book it.
We can also quote a photographer. Flying a drone requires a park permit, paid separately, and because that fee can change we give no figure here. Mention it when you ask for a quote and we answer in writing.
Photographs of Kanha Citta and Loka are on the photos page. For Kanha Natha, we send pictures on WhatsApp on request.
For a celebration of 20: Kanha Citta, with the Gayatri room for the guest of honour. For a dinner party of 10: Kanha Natha, the whole boat to yourselves. For 14 friends at a lower price than Citta: Kanha Loka. Tell us the date, the number of guests and where they are flying from, and we send a written quote.
FAQ
Can we celebrate a birthday on a Kanha boat?
Yes, either on a private charter or as a guest on the shared trip. On request we arrange decorations, a special dinner and a photographer, quoted within hours, and nothing is added without a written quote. A cake, a band or a surprise is only promised once it is confirmed in writing.
Can we decorate the boat for a birthday?
Yes: decorations for a cabin or the deck are quoted on request. The price depends on the party, the island and the season, and you approve it in writing before anything is added. With karaoke and a Bluetooth sound system on all three boats, the music is already taken care of.
Is there an age limit for guests at a celebration?
No age limit is published. Children aged 0 to 2 travel free, and from 3 the full fare applies. Let us know your guests' ages, and for the very young or the very old we confirm in writing whether the route suits them.
Can we play our own music on board?
Yes. All three boats have a Bluetooth sound system and karaoke, and Kanha Citta and Kanha Loka also have a bar area; Kanha Natha does not. Agree the volume with the captain, who also decides the stops on the day.
How much does a milestone birthday for 20 cost?
Chartering Kanha Citta for 20 guests over 3 days and 2 nights costs IDR 145,680,000 (≈ USD 8,937), or IDR 7,280,000 (≈ USD 447) each. Kanha Loka for 20 is IDR 136,800,000 (≈ USD 8,393) for the same 3 days. Guide, documentation, decorations and dinners are quoted separately, and park tickets are always extra.
