The stops on a Komodo boat trip

Updated 23 October 2026

The Komodo National Park islands to visit on a Kanha 3D2N come to nine stops, the same on all three boats. Manjarite, Kelor and Kalong fall on day 1; Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo and Manta Point on day 2; Sebayur and Taka Makassar on day 3. The captain adjusts the list for weather.

Nine stops, in order

Kanha Citta, Kanha Loka and Kanha Natha follow the same nine stops.

  • Day 1. Manjarite for a first snorkel, Kelor for a short hike to a viewpoint over the bay, and Kalong at sunset, where the flying foxes leave their mangroves.
  • Day 2. Padar for the ridge walk, Pink Beach for snorkelling and time on the sand, Komodo for a ranger-guided walk among the dragons, and Manta Point for a guided snorkel.
  • Day 3. Sebayur for reef and beach, and Taka Makassar, the sandbar, for the last snorkel before the drop-off around 12:00.

Eight of the stops have a page of their own, with the light, the effort and the limits.

On the route, and stops we confirm in writing

These nine are the only stops on the 3D2N route. Kanawa and Rinca are not among them. If you want a private charter to call at one, we say yes or no in writing before you pay, and the stop goes into your itinerary only when it has a written yes.

The same rule covers the private 2D1N and 4D3N. Their routes are written into your itinerary, and a day left open, such as the first afternoon of a 4D3N, is named there before you pay.

The shared trip is a 3D2N only and follows the nine-stop list, so those stops are what the shared trip offers every Friday.

Sailing between stops is the captain's call

The captain decides the order on the day. Weather, tide and the instructions of the park authorities can change it, and a changed route costs nothing extra. Taka Makassar shows its sandbar only at low tide, and Manta Point depends on the current, so the captain places them by the water, not by the page.

No sailing times between stops are quoted, because they move with weather and tide. What is fixed is who decides: the captain, with safety first.

Park entry is paid separately: IDR 250,000 per person per day for international visitors, IDR 50,000 for Indonesian citizens on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends. Ranger and other levies are paid separately and can change.

The Kanha edit: for the ridge walk, day 2 opens with Padar; for the quiet hour, Kalong at sunset.

FAQ

How many stops are on the Kanha 3D2N route?

Nine: Manjarite, Kelor and Kalong on day 1; Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo and Manta Point on day 2; and Sebayur and Taka Makassar on day 3. The same list applies to Kanha Citta, Kanha Loka and Kanha Natha, and the captain adjusts the order for weather.

Is Kanawa on the route?

No. Kanawa is not on any Kanha itinerary. It is a small island with white sand beaches and shallow reef. If you want a private charter to call there, we answer yes or no in writing before you pay, and the stop is added to your itinerary only after that written yes.

Does the route include Rinca?

No. Rinca is not on the 3D2N route, where Komodo is the island for the dragon walk. A private charter can ask for Rinca, and we confirm in writing whether it fits your dates and the days you have, before any payment.
