A Bali honeymoon with a Komodo boat trip: four days to add

Updated 23 October 2026

A Bali honeymoon with a Komodo boat trip adds 4 days: land in Labuan Bajo on Thursday, sail on Friday, fly back after 14:00 on Sunday. Gayatri on Kanha Citta costs IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552) per person, Master Ocean View on Loka IDR 8,400,000 (≈ USD 515), all of Natha for two IDR 48,600,000 (≈ USD 2,982).

Choose your Kanha for a honeymoon

Kanha Citta is the boat for a honeymoon that wants one grand gesture. The Gayatri room has an ocean view, a private balcony and an ensuite bathroom, and it is the only balcony cabin on Citta. It costs IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552) per person, the top fare on any of the three boats.

Loka offers a lower-priced balcony in the Master Ocean View, at IDR 8,400,000 (≈ USD 515) per person, on a boat that also has a bar area and a sun deck. Its other balcony is the Family Ocean View, which is for four guests and not the cabin for newlyweds.

Kanha Natha is the quiet version. Two Private Ocean View cabins, one with a balcony and one opening onto the sun deck, make up half the boat; the other half is two Sharing Cabins. For two guests the whole boat is IDR 48,600,000 (≈ USD 2,982). It has no bar area and sleeps up to 12.

Natha gives the most privacy, Citta the most comfort per cabin, and Loka sits between them on price.

How many days to add to Bali

Four. The boat trip is 3 days and 2 nights, and it starts in Labuan Bajo, not in Bali. No Kanha boat leaves from Bali or Lombok, so the trip needs a flight at each end.

Thursday is the flight day. A direct flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. Schedules change, so check the current timetable of the airline before you book, and do not buy a fare until the dates are confirmed with us.

Thursday night is spent in a hotel in town, so that the Friday pickup is unhurried. The where-to-stay page lists the partner hotels we work with. The boat leaves on Friday, and pickup on the shared trip is around 09:00 from your hotel or the airport.

On Sunday, drop-off is around 12:00 on the shared trip. Fly back to Bali after 14:00, and the fourth day is closed.

Bali first or Komodo first

One date in the honeymoon is fixed for you: the Friday sailing. The shared trip leaves every Friday, and a private charter start is agreed in writing, so plan Bali around the boat.

Bali first suits a couple who arrive tired from the wedding. The first days are slow, a villa or a beach hotel, and Komodo becomes the active middle of the trip. The days after the boat are then free for rest.

Komodo first suits a couple who want the adventure while the energy is high and the quiet afterwards. Most international visitors connect through Bali or Jakarta, so ending in Bali is practical for the long flight home. A Sunday landing in Bali after the boat leaves a few days of pool and beach before the plane.

We suggest Komodo in the middle or at the start, and Bali last. That is a preference, not a rule, and the Friday decides the order more than any opinion.

Three days afloat, day by day

The route is identical on all three boats. For a honeymoon, the days read like this.

Day 1. Manjarite for the first swim together, Kelor for a short climb and a view of the bay, and Kalong for sunset. The flying foxes leave the mangroves about 15 minutes after the sun goes down. Stay on deck for it.

Day 2. Padar early, with the ridge viewpoint over three bays. Pink Beach for snorkelling and sand. Komodo Island for a ranger-led walk among wild dragons, which are likely to appear but never guaranteed. Manta Point to close, with a strong current, so snorkel only if you are confident swimmers.

Day 3. Sebayur for an easy snorkel and Taka Makassar for the sandbar and shallow reef. Drop-off follows.

The captain decides on the day whether weather changes the order of the stops.

Cabins with a balcony, and what to book ahead

There is one Gayatri room on Citta and one Master Ocean View on Loka. Natha has one Private Ocean View with a balcony and a second that opens onto the sun deck. Each balcony cabin is the only one of its kind on its boat, which is why they are the first cabins to ask about. The shared trip dates page shows which Fridays are running.

Fares are per person with a minimum of 2 guests, so a couple pays two. They cover the local guide and documentation. Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of a fare.

No decoration, private dinner or champagne is included. Decorations and a special dinner are services we quote on request, within hours, and nothing is added without a written quote. Bed sizes are confirmed in writing before you pay.

If you want the boat to yourselves, the whole of Natha for two costs IDR 48,600,000 (≈ USD 2,982), though the guide and documentation are not included on a private charter and are quoted separately on request.

For a honeymoon with the strongest cabin: Gayatri on Kanha Citta. For the most private three days: the whole of Kanha Natha.

FAQ

How many days should I add to a Bali honeymoon for Komodo?

Add 4 days: fly to Labuan Bajo on the Thursday, sail the 3 days and 2 nights from Friday, and fly home after 14:00 on the Sunday. The boats leave Labuan Bajo only. The flight from Bali takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes.

Which Kanha cabin is best for a honeymoon?

Gayatri on Kanha Citta, at IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552) per person, has a private balcony and ensuite bathroom. Master Ocean View on Kanha Loka is IDR 8,400,000 (≈ USD 515) per person with a balcony. Natha's Private Ocean View cabins are cheaper still and the boat is smaller.

Can we have decorations or a private dinner for newlyweds?

Both are services we quote on request. The price depends on the island, the number of guests and the season, and the quote comes within hours. Nothing is added to your fare without a written quote, and no decoration or private dinner is included in any fare.

Is a private charter worth it for a honeymoon?

A private charter of Kanha Natha for two costs IDR 48,600,000 (≈ USD 2,982), and it excludes the guide and documentation. The shared trip costs less per person and includes them. Choose the charter for privacy and the shared trip for budget. Park tickets and ranger fees are extra on both, and the Friday start is the same.
