A Komodo boat charter for large groups on the Kanha boats is priced by party size: 12 guests on Kanha Loka pay IDR 104,160,000 (≈ USD 6,390) for 3D2N, or IDR 8,680,000 (≈ USD 533) each. Citta and Loka take up to 20 guests, Natha up to 12. The guide and park fees cost extra.
Three bands, one price for the whole boat
Every Kanha boat has one price card for a private charter, built on the same three durations and the same three bands. A band is a range of head counts that share a single total, and that total buys the whole boat for the trip, not one night.
On Kanha Citta and Kanha Loka the bands are 1 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 10 guests. Kanha Natha uses 1 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 12. Here is how the three cards read for 3D2N.

What 8, 12, 16 and 20 guests each pay
Split the whole-boat total by the people actually coming, not by the band. Four head counts show how it works on 3D2N, listed Citta, Loka, Natha.
- 8 guests: IDR 12,260,000 (≈ USD 752), IDR 11,220,000 (≈ USD 688), IDR 7,230,000 (≈ USD 444) each.
- 12 guests: IDR 9,420,000 (≈ USD 578), IDR 8,680,000 (≈ USD 533), IDR 5,060,000 (≈ USD 310) each.
- 16 guests: IDR 8,080,000 (≈ USD 496) on Citta, IDR 7,530,000 (≈ USD 462) on Loka; Natha cannot take 16.
- 20 guests: IDR 7,280,000 (≈ USD 447) on Citta, IDR 6,840,000 (≈ USD 420) on Loka; Natha cannot take 20.
Within a band the total stays put, so every empty bed lifts everyone else's share. A party of 5 pays what 8 would. Fill the band before you step into the next: since 8 cost the same as 5, the sixth, seventh and eighth guests come at no extra cost to the boat. If your party sits just over a band edge, ask us what one fewer guest would change; sometimes nothing, sometimes a good deal.

Past ten guests: the add-on per guest on Citta and Loka
After the 10th guest, Kanha Citta and Kanha Loka charge a fixed sum for each additional guest, up to 20. For 3D2N that add-on is IDR 4,080,000 (≈ USD 250) per guest on Citta and IDR 4,080,000 (≈ USD 250) per guest on Loka.
Take 16 guests on Loka: the 9-to-10 band plus six add-ons, or IDR 120,480,000 (≈ USD 7,391) for the boat. On Citta the same party pays IDR 129,360,000 (≈ USD 7,936). The add-on sits below each person's share of the band, so every guest you add brings the others' cost down. Hence a reunion of 18 pays less a head than a party of 11, on the same boat with fuller cabins.
Above 20 guests, no single Kanha boat is sold. A group of 21 or more means two boats and two quotes, which we can put on the same Friday.

Kanha Natha for up to 12: the small sister
Up to 12 guests sleep aboard Natha, in 2 Private Ocean View cabins and 2 Sharing Cabins of 4 single bunks. Her top band covers 9 to 12 guests at one total, so from the 9th guest on, each addition trims everyone's share: at 12 guests it is IDR 5,060,000 (≈ USD 310) each, against IDR 6,750,000 (≈ USD 414) with 9.
She has a dining area and a sun deck but no bar area, and 5 crew. Of the three, she is the one for 6 to 12 friends who want quiet and a boat to themselves. We book her for up to 12 guests; for 13 and up, choose Kanha Citta or Kanha Loka. Her price card runs 1 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 12 guests. Since 10 guests pay the same as 12, the cheapest way to sail her is with a full 12. Ask on WhatsApp and we send photographs of Natha.
What the boat price covers, and three lines it never does
The charter price buys the boat, the crew, meals and snorkelling gear. Coffee and tea, a mineral drink, towels and toiletries match the shared-trip list. The local guide and the photo and video documentation are not included but can be arranged and quoted separately; park tickets and ranger fees never belong to a fare.
That leaves three lines outside the boat price: the guide, the documentation and the park charges. Flights, hotel nights, tips, insurance and any drinks beyond the free-flow coffee and tea are yours as well. Pickup from your hotel or the airport is set out in writing, with the time and meeting point agreed before you pay. Park fees are charged separately and do change, so the table below gives today's rates, and we never fold them into a quote without telling you.

Shorter and longer: 2D1N and 4D3N
2D1N and 4D3N use the same bands. For 1 to 4 guests, a 2D1N is IDR 73,200,000 (≈ USD 4,491) on Citta, IDR 68,400,000 (≈ USD 4,196) on Loka and IDR 39,480,000 (≈ USD 2,422) on Natha. A 4D3N, in the same order, is IDR 111,840,000 (≈ USD 6,861), IDR 102,120,000 (≈ USD 6,265) and IDR 60,720,000 (≈ USD 3,725).
The 4D3N adds a day to the 3D2N route, and your written itinerary names the stops for it. A full-day charter is available on request, with a sample card but no published price; the day-trip page sets out what a single day can and cannot reach. Private charters can start on any date agreed in writing. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day. When the weather requires it, the captain changes the route, and a new order of stops never means a new price.

Deposit, cancellation and a replacement boat
Your dates are secured by a 50% deposit, with the balance due 30 days before departure. Cancel early and 50% of the fare comes back; in the middle window, 25%. After that, nothing is refunded. The exact windows are in the tables below, and they are worth reading before the deposit goes. Insurance with cancellation cover is strongly advised and is never part of a fare. Moving a date is free 30 or more days before departure, subject to availability; from 29 to 14 days it costs IDR 500,000, and inside 14 days it counts as a cancellation.
Should a breakdown, or an order from the harbour master or the park, keep the boat in port, you move to a phinisi of equal or better standard on the same dates, at no extra cost. Or, if you prefer, a full refund within 14 days. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia books the three Kanha boats as a partner; the boats themselves belong to their owner.

FAQ
Can I book a private charter for 2027?
The prices shown are those on the 2026 rate cards. 2027 rates: on request. Send us your month and party size and we confirm the card and hold your dates in writing.
Are the guide and documentation included on a private charter?
No. A private charter covers the boat, crew, meals and snorkelling gear. The local guide and photo and video documentation can be added on request, priced separately. The shared Friday trip includes both, so add those quotes before you compare totals.
Is the charter price per night or per boat?
Per boat. Each price card gives one total for the whole boat, by duration (2D1N, 3D2N or 4D3N) and by band of guests. Divide it by the number of people actually sailing to get the per-person figure, as the tables on this page do. That is the number to set against a shared seat.
What if my group has 21 or more guests?
No single Kanha boat carries 21 or more: Citta and Loka stop at 20, Natha at 12. A bigger group becomes two boats on two quotes, Citta with Natha for instance, both sailing on the same Friday so the group meets up at the islands.
Can a private charter start on a date that is not a Friday?
Yes. Fridays apply to the shared open trip only. A private charter can begin on any date agreed in writing, provided the boat is free. Send us the start day you would like and your party size, and we check her calendar.
How do we split the bill among 14 guests?
Take the whole-boat total for 14 guests, IDR 121,200,000 (≈ USD 7,436) on Citta or IDR 112,320,000 (≈ USD 6,891) on Loka, and divide it by 14. We can invoice one payer, or split the deposit and the balance across several, whichever you agree with us in writing before the deposit falls due.
