Four days in Labuan Bajo: a hotel night plus a 3-day boat trip
Updated 23 October 2026
A Labuan Bajo itinerary 4 days 3 nights comes in two shapes. One is a Thursday hotel night plus the Friday 3D2N shared trip. The other is a private 4D3N charter afloat for all four days, from IDR 60,720,000 (≈ USD 3,725) for the whole boat on Kanha Natha.
Labuan Bajo itinerary 4 days 3 nights: two ways to spend it
Both shapes use four calendar days. They differ in where the first night is spent and in who shares the boat, and the choice between them is the real decision on this page.
The first shape is a hotel night on Thursday, then the 3D2N shared trip from Friday morning to Sunday midday. You sleep on land once and on the boat twice, with other guests aboard, and the fare is per cabin from IDR 4,500,000 (≈ USD 276) per person.
The second shape is a private 4D3N charter: all four days afloat, the whole boat yours, three nights aboard. It is the choice for a party that wants the longer sample route and its own company.
The shared trip is 3D2N only. A private 4D3N is the only four-day boat trip we sell, and no shared 4D3N exists. Which shape is better depends on how many are travelling. It also depends on how much of the four days you want on land.
Thursday: landing, harbour, dinner
Land in Labuan Bajo on Thursday. The airport is 2 to 3 km from town, about 10 minutes by car to the harbour area, so the afternoon is yours before the boat.
From Bali the flight takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. Check the airline's current timetable. Arriving the day before is standing advice, because a cancelled or delayed flight on the morning itself costs you the first stop.
Pickup on Friday is around 09:00 from your hotel. A hotel close to the harbour saves the early drive, and our hotels page lists the options we place guests in. Dinner on Thursday is on land and not part of the fare, so there is no schedule to keep that evening. Walk the harbour, eat in town, and check that your passport or ID is in the day bag for the morning.
The hotel night is not an extra; it is the part of the plan that protects the three days that follow.
Friday to Sunday on the shared trip
The shared trip follows the 3D2N route. Day 1 runs Manjarite, Kelor and the Kalong sunset. Day 2 runs Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo and Manta Point. Day 3 runs Sebayur and Taka Makassar, with the drop-off around 12:00 on Sunday.
The guide and the photo and video documentation are included in the shared fare. Cabins are priced per person, with a minimum of 2 guests in a private cabin; the Sharing Cabin is priced per bed, and children aged 0 to 2 travel free. From 3 the full fare applies. Park tickets and ranger fees are paid separately.
The captain can adjust the route for the weather, and Manta Point is never guaranteed. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day.

A private 4D3N, day by day
The 3D2N is the only route with a fixed stop list, so the 4D3N below is a sample; the captain and our team confirm the stops and their order in writing before you pay.
Day 1 starts with pickup around 09:00, boarding and lunch, then afternoon stops near Labuan Bajo that are named in your written itinerary. Day 2 spreads three stops across the day: Manta Point, Taka Makassar and the Komodo walk with a ranger.
Day 3 starts with the Padar ridge walk as the first stop, then Pink Beach and Kalong at dusk. Day 4 closes with Kelor and Manjarite and the return to Labuan Bajo.
The extra day buys slack. Manta Point and Taka Makassar sit together on day 2, away from the long day 3, so the stops that depend on tide and current do not crowd a single morning. No stop is promised outside the written itinerary.

Sunday afternoon and a day on land
On the shared shape, the boat is back around 12:00 on Sunday, and a flight after 14:00 fits. That leaves the afternoon free, or a Sunday night in town if your flight is on Monday.
On the private 4D3N, the return time on day 4 is confirmed in your written itinerary; do not book the flight home until you have it.
A spare day on land is easy to add at either end. We arrange pickup, a larger vehicle for a group and events such as a dinner, each quoted within hours and never added without a written quote. The services page lists what we arrange.
If the party is large, the arithmetic changes the plan. A whole-boat charter on Kanha Citta or Kanha Loka covers up to 20 guests, and Kanha Natha covers up to 12. For a party of 13 or more we book Citta or Loka.
FAQ
Is four days enough for Labuan Bajo?
Four days fit one boat trip and one hotel night around it: Thursday landing, the 3D2N from Friday, and a Sunday flight after 14:00. It covers all nine stops. A party that wants slack on land adds a fifth day before the boat.
Do I need a hotel night before the boat?
We advise it. Flights can be cancelled or delayed, and pickup is around 09:00 on day 1, so landing the day before protects the first stop. The hotel is paid separately and is not part of a boat fare. Our hotels page lists the places we place guests in, close to the harbour or a short drive from it.
What is the difference between a private 4D3N and the shared trip?
The shared trip is 3D2N and priced per cabin, with the guide and documentation included. A private 4D3N is the whole boat for four days, priced by group band, with the guide and documentation quoted separately. No shared 4D3N exists.
Which park fees apply over four days?
Park entry is paid per person under PP 36/2024: IDR 250,000 for international visitors, IDR 50,000 for Indonesian citizens on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends. The ticket days follow your written itinerary, and ranger and pier levies are paid separately and can change.
