Two parties behind a Kanha trip
Two parties stand behind a Kanha trip, and it helps to know which does what. The owner holds Kanha Citta, Kanha Loka and Kanha Natha, employs the Kanha crew and sails the boats. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia sells the trips from Labuan Bajo.
We are a booking partner, not the shipowner. The boats belong to their owner, and this website is ours. That is why we write "the three Kanha boats we book" and never call this the official Kanha website.
For you it comes to one rule of thumb. Everything on this site about price, dates, refunds and the replacement boat comes from us, in writing, and we answer for it. Everything that happens once you are on deck belongs to the captain.
What a booking partner does on each booking
Each booking starts with a written quote from us. It names the boat, the dates, the number of guests, the cabins or the whole boat, and what the fare includes. The deposit of 50% holds the dates, the balance follows 30 days before sailing, and the invoice comes from PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia.
We also handle the edges of the trip: pickup from your hotel or the airport, advice on which flight to take to Labuan Bajo, and hotel rooms if you want a night on land before the boat. Flight tickets are not something we sell.
When a date, a cabin or a price changes, you hear it from us in writing. If a boat cannot sail because of a breakdown or an order from the harbour master or the park, the replacement guarantee is ours to honour. You get a phinisi of equal or better standard on the same dates at no extra cost, or a full refund within 14 days.
Jobs that stay with the owner and the Kanha crew
The Kanha crew works for the owner: 7 crew on Kanha Citta, 7 on Kanha Loka and 5 on Kanha Natha. The captain decides the route on the day, including any change for weather, and where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day.
The owner also fixes the rate cards, the cabins and the sailing calendar. We do not add a cabin the owner does not offer, and we do not invent a Friday. Where there is no answer yet, as with some bed sizes or the 2027 rates, we say on request and confirm it in writing before you pay.
The split is deliberate. A booking partner that pretended to run the boat would be promising things that only a captain can deliver.
Where the facts on this site come from
Boat facts come from the owner's 2026 brochures: the cabin cards, the specification cards, the itinerary card and the private-charter price cards. The prices are as listed on the 2026 rate cards. Nothing on a boat page is added from memory.
Sailing dates come from the owner's calendar and appear through the dates block, never typed by hand. Policies follow our own booking terms and the national park tariff, and they change on every page at once when either changes.
Photographs come from the Citta and Loka catalogues and from guest trips in 2026. Photos of Kanha Natha are sent on WhatsApp on request. What is not confirmed stays off the page, or carries the words confirmed in writing.
